British record manufacturer. The Crystalate Gramophone Record Manufacturing Co. Ltd. was formed in 1928 by British plastics company The Crystalate Manufacturing Company Ltd. (est 1901) who was a well established matrix maker and contract pressing agent for numerous British labels in the 1900s-20s. Crystalate began pressing records for [l132350] in 1922 and would eventually purchase the label in 1925. Crystalate also pressed records for [l142204], [l125183] and [l870303] among others. In 1932 Crystalate acquired [l604611] and their label [l132025]. In March 1937 Crystalate's record manufacturing division was sold to Decca. The Crystalate company continued its non-record related operations until 1990. Also seen on releases as: Crystalate Gramophone Record Mfg. Co. Ltd.
