Great Northern Mfg. Co.

Profile

The Great Northern Manufacturing Company, based in Chicago, Illinois, produced records with particularly large spindle holes (9/16-inch in diameter) that only worked on the company's own gramophones. Between 1907 and 1916, it produced the [l668228] label. In 1916, it joined with several other companies that marketed odd-spindle labels ([l788368], Harmony Talking Machine Co., [l506992], [l644226] and [l805900]) to form the Consolidated Talking Machine Company, Inc. of Chicago, and [l668228] was discontinued on favor of the new Consolidated Record label.
