Australian label (or company) based in Melbourne. EAST Records (Elwood Audio Services Transcriptions) was a Melbourne independent studio and label run by Bill Hawtin from 1960's onwards. Like most independent studios of the day, part of EAST's business was recording and pressing 'demo' and custom recordings for bands and singers. Some later releases state the company as "East Recording Co."
