British Composers

The British Composers range was a series of re-releases of classic recordings and new releases from [l34406], some reissued under [l90091] when [l2345] purchased the label. The series invoked the tagline "Celebrating the Past, Shaping the Future." The first series of nine issues in mid-1991, followed by a second set of eight in autumn of the same year. Each CD release featured a small gold or silver foil stamp of the British Isles on the cover, with the words "British Composers" above. Releases continued through the 1990s. The releases were a mix of mid-price and full-price CDs. They featured many composers, including Arnold, Bax, Bliss, Brian, Bridge, Britten, Delius, Elgar, Ferguson, Finzi, Holst, Ireland, Maw, Moeran, Sullivan, Tippett, Turnage, Vaughan Williams, and Walton.
