Logos

Profile

Logos was a Swedish manufacturing company established in 1965. The company began manufacturing CDs in 1994, and became part of the [l=DCM (3)] group in 1998. In December 2000, [l=DCM (3)] acquired [l271273], a mastering studio located in the same premises as Logos. DCM consolidated the two companies under the name Digitalfabriken in early 2001, after which the name Logos fell out of use and discs manufactured at the plant credited [l271273] (or [l=Digfab]) in the matrix. Name variations as found on this profile: - Logos - Logos, Gothenburg - Logos, Göteborg When Logos is named in the disc matrix, please use the Pressed By role. Mould SID code: 8R**. CDs replicated by Logos carry a unique matrix number in the format YYMMXXX#####, where: · YYMM = year and month in which Logos processed the CD order. · XXX = A sequence of 1-3 letters, seemingly indicating the glass master origin (see below). · #### = A sequential number of 1-4 digits. This part may be entered into the LCCN as catalog number. NOTE: In the code above, the letter O is often mistaken as a zero. Please look carefully when entering this code. Examples: [r1534772] [r5060160] (also note O vs. 0 in matrix here) [r23825516] (post-DCM group joining) It appears that Logos outsourced all glass mastering to external manufacturers, or, after 1998, to other DCM group locations where glass mastering equipment existed. The 'XXX' part of the matrix number above indicates the origin of the glass master, and is related to the mastering SID code found on the disc. A Glass Mastered At role may be applied to one of the following companies according to instructions provided on their profiles: · DL = ??? · DM + IFPI L051/L052 = [l=DCM (3)] · IM or IML + IFPI L055/L056 = [l=Independent Masters Ltd] · MM + IFPI L852 = [l=Multi Media Masters] · O + IFPI L081/L082 = ??? · S = ???
