DCM (Digital Communication Media) was a Swedish company that ran several optical disc manufacturing plants in Sweden and Finland, as well as a glass mastering plant in England and sales offices in Denmark and Norway. The company was headquartered in Kista (a district of Stockholm), where it was founded in 1991, and throughout its existence ran manufacturing plants in Kista/Stockholm, Malmö, and Gothenburg. In 1998, DCM acquired [l=Logos], an optical disc manufacturing plant located in Gothenburg. In June 2000, DCM acquired [l1746552], a software duplicator based in Lund, from TurnIT AB, which continued operations as [l1547311]. A sister company, TriData ApS, based in Humlebæk, Denmark, also continued operations under DCM. A CD/DVD manufacturing plant was opened in Arlöv, north of Malmö, in 2000, which operated under the name [l=DCM Øresund AB]. In December 2000, DCM acquired mastering studio [l271273], based in Gothenburg. Digitalfabriken had been located at the same premises as [l380766] since 1994, and in early 2001 both companies were consolidated under the name Digitalfabriken, ending the existence of Logos. In July 2005, DCM acquired fellow optical disc manufacturer [l330473], after which the two companies' operations were merged and continued under the new name [l=Dicentia].
