View Records was originally Vinyl Records. The name change, which happened at the end of the 1970s, was due to the existence of another label called Vinyl. View Records was run by [a=Manfred Schiek] in Berlin. Manfred Schiek setup the [l=Konnex] label in 1984 and this became the primary outlet for jazz releases. The last View album was released in 1985.
