Stockholms Gosskör

Swedish boys choir formed in 1938 by [a6845440]. The choir has over the years received great appreciation both in Sweden and abroad and has, among other things. appointed Choir of the Federation and Cultural Ambassador to the EU, a title previously awarded to King’s College Cambridge Choir and Le Choir de Montserrat. The choir's foundation is classical choir music based on the English model, which means that the choir sings in four parts - soprano, countertenor, tenor and bass. Today, the choir has a broad repertoire that spans all genres, a change that has taken place during the more than 40 years that the choir has been active with Roland Nilsson who was artistic director 1968–2008 and with Karin Skogberg Ankarmo who is artistic director since 2008. Stockholm's Boys' Choir sings everything from Bach to Coldplay and in recent years has participated in both Allsång at Skansen and at the National Day celebrations at the Royal Palace. The choir tours regularly both in Sweden and abroad and has sung in most countries in Europe and also in the United States. In the autumn of 2011, the choir made a tour abroad to China, with i.a. a live concert on Chinese radio. Stockholm's Boys' Choir is also regularly visited by choirs from other countries. In 2013, the choir conducted an Anniversary Tour to Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria, and in the spring of 2019, the choir will sing in St. Peter's Church in the Vatican City. H.M. Queen Silvia is the choir's highest patroness. The choir has, among other things, sung at H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf and H.K.H. Prince Carl Philips respectively baptism, but also at H.K.H. Princess Birgitta's wedding, H.K.H. Princess Sibylla's funeral, H.K.H. Crown Princess Victoria's listening reception and also at H.K.H. Princess Estelle's baptismal service.
