Overview
All For Love --- 1997
The Philippine release of Walt Disney Presents All for Love includes two songs performed by local artists: "The Story of My Life," sung by Donna Cruz, and "For Love of You," sung by Janno Gibbs. Although the album was licensed and distributed by Rock Records Philippines, both Philippine singers were signed to local independent Viva Records and came to the project via negotiations between the two labels. The album features 17 love songs heard in various Walt Disney films. Aside from the two songs which use Philippine singers, the original singers and songs from the films and soundtracks are heard, including Elton John singing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," Vanessa Williams on "Colors of the Wind," and Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle performing "A Whole New World." Songwriter Alan Menken composed the melodies to ten songs, including one on which he sings, "God Bless Us Everyone." Most of the songs are grand, beautiful middle-of-the-road affairs. Vocal group All 4 One puts forth a brilliant performance on the soulful "Someday," while Lyle Lovett and Randy Newman duet on the rootsy, almost campy "You've Got a Friend in Me"."
