Box Set retrospective of the work of Dead Can Dance, as printed on front sticker: "3 CD's with 47 songs including 9 rare or previously unreleased tracks plus a bonus DVD with Toward The Within (a live concert with interviews) and music videos" 108 page hardcover digibook (partly cloth-bound) with credits, photos and lyrics, also includes binded cardboard sleeves that hold all the discs. Housed in outer cardboard slipcase, originally with black front sticker and white upper spine sticker. After this limited edition boxset had sold out two years later, the audio contents were stripped down to a 2-disc version, as well as the graphical contents of the book down to a booklet of 24 pages and the resulting new set released as the unlimited compilation [m=273506]. 1-1, 1-17: from [r=159986] compilation album. "Frontier (Demo)" recorded on 4 track in Belgrave, Melbourne in 1981. Mixed in November 1986 at Blackwing, London. "The Protagonist" recorded during the sessions for [r=98934]. 1-2 to 1-5: from John Peel session, 19 November 1983, previously unreleased. Recorded at BBC Maida Vale studio 4. "Labour Of Love" and "Orion" are previously unreleased songs. 1-6: from John Peel session, 2 June 1984, previously unreleased. Recorded at BBC Maida Vale Studio 5. 1-7: one of the four tracks released on [r=66775] 12". 1-8 to 1-10: from [r=154875]. 1-11 to 1-14: from [r=98934]. 1-15, 2-1 to 2-4: from [r=378794]. 1-16, 2-9: recorded for the compilation album [r=56711]. 2-5 to 2-8: from [r=190140]. 2-10, 2-11, 2-15, 2-17: from [r=54689]. 2-14: the version presented here is a full un-mixed version. On the [r=54689] album the ending of the song was segued into the next song. Here the ending of "The Carnival Is Over" is clean and not overlapped. 2-12, 2-16: from Santa Monica community radio KCRW show 'Morning Becomes Eclectic', 16 August 1993 during a USA tour. "Sloth", entitled "Dragging My Feet" at this time, was later recorded for Brendan's 1999 [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/175249]solo album[/url]. Previously unreleased. 2-13: recorded live on 10 July 1996 at Keswick Theatre, Philadelphia for broadcast on the USA syndicated radio show "Echoes", presented by John Diliberto. Previously available on [r=536189] compilation. This CD credits Lisa Gerrard, not Dead Can Dance. 3-1 to 3-7: from [r=97843]. 3-8, 3-9, 3-11: from [r=67102]. 3-10: from [r=190121] tour programme. 3-12: from [r=446692] single. 3-13: recorded in 1998, this is the only completed song from the abandoned sessions at Quivy Church to record a follow up album to Spiritchaser. Previously unreleased. DVD-1 to DVD-14: recorded live at the Mayfair Theater, Santa Monica, CA, on the 1993 tour and released on the album [r=233886]. Gloridean was recorded for the movie but omitted from the record release, though Lisa Gerrard re-recorded the track (as Gloradin) on her first solo album [m=26459]. DVD-15 to DVD-17: promotional videos, previously unreleased.
