Titles were not awarded individual master numbers. Instead the "matrix" identifies the 16" lacquer and the number after the dash the track on that lacquer. Thus ET 292-2 means "Begin The Beguine" , was recorded on lacquer number 429 and the chosen take is the second track on this lacquer. More titles were recorded by session because the same level of perfection was not demanded as on phono dates, since transcription recordings were not intended for public sale, though in Kenton's case the difference in quality is minimal." This compilation comes in a carboard boxset which contains the 4 CDs in individual cardboard sleeve, a 48-page booklet with detailed discography, liner notes in English and many photos, and also a 24-page booklet with Proper catalogue. ℗ 2000 Proper Records Ltd. © 2006 Proper Records Ltd.
