The Paper Kites --- 2010

The debut self-titled cdr ep, in handpainted, recycled cardboard sleeve, originally sold, at fans requests, at Melbourne shows in 2010, in very small numbers. This quickly morphed into the 6 track 'Bloom' ep, also in handpainted sleeves with similar artwork, later in 2010, which featured 2 of the same tracks. There was no printed tracklisting on the cd, or the cover, with the back cover sporting a simple 'for you' message in the bottom right corner. Frustratingly, I have been unable to confirm exact details of this lovely ep from the band, (including the title of track 2, which, like the first track, appear to have been unreleased elsewhere). However a Wikipedia entry notes that the handmade eps' numbered 'under 500', which was confirmed by the bands current label, but as both this debut, and the 'Bloom' eps' were handmade, this would suggest 500 is a combined figure, and owing to the rapid rise in popularity of the band after the 'Bloom' track was released, would suggest the actual number of copies made of this release, may have been closer to 100.
