He has continued his studies 1983 in Mexico City at the "Estudio De Arte Guitarristico"-school with Manuel López Ramos and in semester of 1985-1986 at the Conservatory of Prague in Czechoslovakia with professor Arnošt Sádlik. In 1983 Manuel López Ramos wrote warmly of J.T.: "I am convinced that this young musician has an enormous future in his artistic career." Besides numerous concert activities Jorma Tykkyläinen has also worked as a guitar teacher. Concert reviewers have often described him as a strong and personal interpreter. On this record he plays a Ramirez guitar from 1975.
