Fiasco

Overview

Fiasco --- 2011

Produced by Tim Cole, David Bridie and Helen Mountfort. Engineered and mixed by Tim Cole at the Enormodome 2010/2011. Mastered by John Ruberto at Crystal Mastering. The Fiasco railway front cover collage is by Warwick Jolly, whose artwork also appears on the covers for MFTCC’s eponymous debut, Brood and Good Luck albums. Photographs of Cake and East Richmond station collage by Pierre Baroni. Additional images by David Bridie. Design and layout by Andrew B. White. Special guests: Greg Fleet: Played the part of Ken the Sergeant Major on ‘25 Stations’ and read the story at the end of ‘Great Expectations’. Stella Bridie: Backing vocals on ‘25 Stations’. Yaki Onio (PNG): Chorus chant vocals on ‘Madang Panic Attack’ (recorded during the making of Not Drowning, Waving’s Tabaran album at Pacific Gold Studios, Rabaul). Found sounds: ‘25 Stations’: Trans Siberian Railway (true story) train tracks shuffle. ‘Great Expectations’: The quote “this man, is walking” is from a 1970s Life Be In It campaign. ‘A Quiet Place’: The whirly sound is the same recording of the plastic whirly tube off the song ‘Willow Tree’ by Not Drowning, Waving from the album Claim. ‘Crossing Shlovniak Hollow’: Steam-powered hurdy gurdy recorded at a fun fair.
