Overview
One Love Peace Concert --- 1981
Originally released as 'Heartland Reggae', this 90-minute video features footage from 3 different concerts filmed in Kingston, Jamaica (Spring)1978 (Bob Marley set @ One Love Peace Concert), then the other performances where shot 5 years later in 1983 in Ochi Rios (Jacob Miller set) and Sav La Mar (U-Roy set). The most memorable being the "One Love Peace Concert" where rival political party leaders Michael Manley and Edward Seaga where united together on stage by Bob Marley who had flown in from the UK for this concert, this was the first time Bob Marley has been back to Jamaica after he was shot. The bringing together of both rival political party leaders on stage has become one of the most iconic moments of this time due to the fact the PNP and JLP where fighting a fierce battle that year with many casualties so to see both leaders come together in Bob's attempt to stop the fighting was a real symbolic moment, both Manley and Seaga never met again for three years until the time of Marley's death in May 1981. The Thunder & Lightening in the film at the point where the 3 hands of Bob, Manley and Seaga unite was edited into the film for effect.
