Overview
Rock Hard --- 1980
Rock Hard is actually almost the same album as [m=251448] with a different title, different album artwork and different tracklist. The tracks of Rock Hard, that can also be found on The Rods, are actually the same recordings with [a=Stephen Starmer] on bass guitar. Compared to the tracklist of The Rods, the covers "Sit Down Honey" and "You Better Run" as well as "In Your Panties" and "Gettin' Higher" are included here, while the [a=White Honey] cover "Nothing Going On In The City" and the the [a=Robert Fleischman] cover "Ace In The Hole" are missing. These two songs were recorded shortly after the release of Rock Hard with [a=Garry Bordonaro] on bass guitar. Additional track information: "Sit Down Honey" was added to some CD re-releases of [m=184819]. It's actually the same recording, but the drum intro is shortened a bit. "Music Man" is a completely different song than the instrumental "The Music Man" on the album [m=414067]. The version of "Power Lover" here is about 10 seconds longer than the one on The Rods. "Sit Down Honey" (which is originally called "Sit Down Honey (Everything Will Be Alright)") was originally released by [a=ELF (3)] on the album [m=105616] in 1972. "You Better Run" was originally released by [a=The Young Rascals] on the single [m=276895] in 1966 and a year later added to the album [m=265781].
