Church Scene --- 1902

From "The Old Homestead" by Denman Thompson. Includes "Nearer, My God, to Thee" (chimes), "The Palms" (Faure) (vocal solo w/ piano); "Where is My Wandering Boy Tonight?" (vocal ensemble, unaccompanied). Originally recorded in June, 1898 with [a847621] instead of [a1534265] and issued on Edison Records Brown Wax Cylinder in 1898. Re-recorded for the Gold Moulded process in 1902. This copy has an early edge, with the catalog #, Edison's trademark signature and "PATENTED" barely visible in the "runout" near the top of the cylinder.
