Overview
Madrigals --- 1978
Appreciations: Saul B. Groen, Amsterdam (research), [a844450], [a2543472] London (research), Claude Desvallées, Paris (research) Madrigals Originally a pastoral song proceeded from the troubadours' pastourelles. especially an Italian art also practised in the Netherlands as well as in England, France and Germany. During their most popular period (1530-1650) madrigals were choircompositions for four or twelve mixed voices. Songs for three equal were uncommon and seldom composed. Hence it's a great pleasure for us to present you this anthology of Madrigals-for-three-equal-voices (1540-1590) collected in five countries.
