Phantom Limbs: Selected B-Sides is a compilation double album. It contains B-sides from singles released from SFK's first four albums (1997 — 2003), including live versions and cover versions of songs by artists including [a10263], [a10262], plus the Australian rock bands [a254425] and [a92734]. The box packaging contains a 12-page booklet and two CDs housed in their own cardsleeves. (Over time it's not uncommon for the glue to fail on one side of the box). Tracks 1-1, 1-15 & 2-9 are from the '[r=1318565]' CD single, which was released by Murmur on April 30th 2001 (MATTCD112). Track 2-9 was recorded live at The Hi-Fi Bar in Melbourne, VIC, Australia on November 17th 2000. Tracks 1-2 & 1-10 are from the '[m=1068511]' single, which was released by Murmur on February 13th 1998. Track 1-3 is from '[r=5914667]' CD single, which was released by Murmur on March 6th 2000 (MATTCD101). Tracks 1-4, 1-11 & 2-11 are from the '[r=4711827]' Australian CD single, which was released by Murmur on July 4th 2003 (MATT CD129). Track 1-5 is from the '[r=737417]' limited edition CD single (500 copies), which was released by Murmur on May 9th 1997 (MATTCD051). Tracks 1-6 & 2-5 are from the '[r=737408]' CD single, which was released by Murmur on June 12th 1998 (MATTCD072). Track 2-5 is a cover of the [a254425] song 'Harpoon'. Track 1-7 is from the '[m=1040351]' single, which was released by Murmur on October 24th 1997. Track 1-8 is from the '[r=7490323]' CD single, which was released by Murmur on August 6th 2001 (MATTCD113). Tracks 1-9, 1-14 & 2-12 are from the '[m=353300]' single, which was released by Murmur on March 26th 1999. Track 1-12 is from the '[r=89219]' CD single, which was released by Murmur on August 9th 1999 (MATTCD088). Tracks 1-13 & 2-13 are from the '[r=1317683]' CD single, which was released by Murmur on November 22nd 1999 (MATTCD094). Tracks 2-1 & 2-2 are from the '[r=6015278]' CD single, which was released by Murmur on October 10th 2003 (Matt CD 132). Tracks 2-3 & 2-10 are from the '[r=8497032]' CD maxi-single, which was released by Murmur on November 5th 2001 (Matt CD 115). Track 2-10 was recorded live at The Forum Theatre in Melbourne, VIC, Australia on either August 17th or 18th 2001. Track 2-4 is a cover of the [a92734] song 'Dreamworld'. First issued on the tribute album '[r=737724]', which was released by Trademark Records on October 29th 2001 (TM013). Track 2-6 is a cover of the [a10262] song 'Ordinary World'. First issued on the tribute album '[r=697124]', which was released by Cruial/EMI on November 15th 1999 (CRCD001). Track 2-7 is a cover of the [a10263] song 'Ashes to Ashes', which was recorded live at the Prince of Wales Hotel in St. Kilda, VIC, Australia on December 2nd 2003. From the '[r=8497060]' CD single, which was released by Murmur on April 19th 2004 (MattCD133). Track 2-8 was recorded live for Channel Ten's 'Cold Live at The Chapel' in Prahran, VIC, Australia on October 14th 2001. From the '[r=8170348]' CD single, which was released by Murmur on February 1st 2002 (Matt CD 116). Track 2-14 is a bootleg cover of the [a504556] song 'Truly', which was recorded live at the Prince of Wales Hotel in St. Kilda, VIC, Australia on May 17th 2002. Previously issued on the DVD video '[r=8476096]', which was released by Murmur on August 20th 2002 (MATTDVD122).
