Forever Changing - The Golden Age Of Elektra Records - 1963-1973 (Deluxe Edition) --- 2006-11-26

This is the Deluxe Edition that came in a 12" x 12" heavy card box. Includes: a hard-bound 12" x 12" 100 page book with a foreword by Jac Holzman, track-by-track annotation, photos of every artist appearing in the set and the original LP record sleeves or 45's. The four main 'Themed' CDs; Disc One 1963-66, Disc Two 1966-68, Disc Three 1967-69 and Disc Four 1970-73 in individual hard bound digipacks with 8 page booklets of original 45's picture bags, artwork and labels. Each of the discs has the appropriate Elektra label of that particular period. A fifth CD called 'Another Time Another Place" (1963-73) containing one-offs, rarities and curiosities from across the entire span of the 'Golden Age' in it's own jacket and inner sleeve. The CDs sit in a velvet effect tray that have two inserts containing brass and orange-inlaid Elektra badges/lapel pins; one of the 60's-era Elektra "E" and the other the 70's-era Elektra butterfly A heavy card folder containing four 8"x 10" B&W Elektra artist photos (The Doors, Love, Tom Rush and Queen) and four individual 3-panel leaflets based on original Elektra promo literature with label copy (track) information for the four main 'themed' discs. An exclusive CD-ROM copy of Jac Holzman and Gavin Daws "Follow The Music" Book plus "The Elektra Records Illustrated Album Discography 1963-1973" that only came in this format of the box set. 8 x heavy-gauge postcards held together by a tan Elektra-logo cardboard wrapper. These postcards depict David Ackles, Tim Buckley, Butterfield Blues Band, Fred Neil, Nico, Tom Paxton, Carly Simon & Stooges. 4 x heavy-gauge, high-quality semi-gloss prints on 12" x 12" card 'slicks' of LP cover art of: Bread (1st), Judy Collins (no.3), Doors (Strange Days) and Love (Forever Changes), housed inside a ribbed high-quality cardboard Elektra "E"-embossed LP mailer. A Numbered Elektra certificate of authentication. The 12" x 12" box was also intended for a very limited 10" + 5 x 2LP vinyl edition that was never made.
