Overview

Deathwish --- 1984

Recorded at Orange County Studios in 1981. These 6 songs were the first recordings Christian Death recorded in a studio before the band signed to Frontier Records for [r=381396]. They were asked to provide some songs for the [r=836321] punk compilation album (Bemisbrain Records, 1981), however only "Dogs" ended up being used. The cover is a reproduction of the painting "Who shall deliver me" by Fernand Khnopff. Reverse has text in French by Jean Lorrain and a picture depicting a child sat upon the coffin of a dead woman (Alfred Kubin "la fiancée de la mort"). Contains 12 page booklet in thin textured paper (in French and English) with tracklist, 4 poems (by Iwan Gilkin, Emile Verhaeren, Remy de Gourmont and Baudelaire), the text by Jean Lorrain (in English) and pencil drawings (notably by Max Klinger). Cover booklet is a black and white reproduction of "Portrait of Stuart Merril" by Jean Delville. Typo : "Desperate Hell" has been written as "Desesperate Hell".
