Clayton Park: Originally released on Sonic Unyon in 1999. Recorded & mixed at The Gas Station, Toronto, ON, in May 1998. Mastered at Metalworks, Toronto, ON. Sweet Homewrecker: Originally released on Elektra in 1997. Recorded at Easley Recording, Memphis, TN, in May 1996. Mixed at Ardent Studios. Mastered at Sterling Sound, NYC. Smart Bomb: Originally released by Murderecords in 1994. Recorded at Pier 21, Halifax, NS, in Oct.-Nov. 1993. The Great Pacific Ocean: Originally released on Murderecords in 1994. Recorded by Steve Albini at his house in Chicago, IL, in Nov. 1994. All Technologies Aside: 1 - Recorded at Lawrence Currie's Idea of East in Halifax, March 1998. 2 - Recorded at Idea of East in '98, first appeared on the No Alternative Records 'Teleconned' compilation. 3 - Recorded in 1996 at Easley's, it ended up on the 'Rock & Roll Detective' promo EP. 4 - Also cut in Memphis in '96 and appeared on the 'R&RD' EP. 5 - 1996, Memphis. 6 - Showed up on a compilation by Montesano Records called 'Four Dots: Seattle, Halifax, Moncton, Bellingham.' Recorded at our Cornwallis St. jam space in 1997. 7 - Recorded at Cornwallis St. on the eight-track in March 1998. 8 - Easley's in '97. 9 - Recorded live off the floor at Easley's in 1996. 10 - Recorded on the Tascam four-track in '95 while demoing for 'Sweet Homewrecker.' 11 - Cut on the Tascam in 1997. 12 - 1997, four-track. 13 - Demo for the third Hermit LP that never was. Recorded at Idea of East in March 1998. 14 - Laid down at Idea of East. 15 - 1996. 16 - Demo done in our space in 1997. 17 - 1998. 18 - 1997. 19 - 1997. 20 - 1999. 21 - Recorded in 1999. 22 - Cut with Dale for 'Clayton Park.' Hits & Giggles: 1 - Recorded in July 1994 at Dreamland, a renovated chapel in Woodstock, NY. 2 - Another one tracked at Dreamland. This came as the 'C-side' on the two-disc 'French Inhale'/'Hated It' set. 3 - Came out as a seven-inch on murderecords in 1995. 4 - B-side for 'Giddy.' 5 - 1995 four-track cassette. 6 - The latter half morphed into the finale of 'Clayton Park.' 7 - Recorded on four-track in 1995 for the 'Blow Hard and Pop' comp. 8 - Recorded in August 1995 at Terry Pulliam's Soundmarket Studio on Gottingen Street in Halifax. 9 - Also laid down at Soundmarket. 10 - Dreamland, 1994. 11 - This went on a tribute comp to the Descendents called 'Homage.' Recorded in 1994 during the GPO session. 12 - Recorded in 1993 as a bonus track for the vinyl 10" of 'Smart Bomb.' 13 - Off the 'John Boomer' EP (1993) and a Genius 7" for the US. 16 - B-side of the 'Marya' 7". 17 - Cut from 'John Boomer.' 18 - Appeared on 'Ammo' in 1993. 19 - Appeared on 'Ammo.' 20 - We created this song in a space briefly borrowed from Sloan and Spike N. over the Misty Moon Cabaret on Barrington St. 21 - From the 'Ammo' 7" EP. 22 - From a long-forgotten local Halifax compilation, 'Out of the Fog II,' possibly recorded by Keith Tufts in an old building on Brunswick Street. 23 - We honoured the Local Rabbits by utterly massacring their song for a murderecords giveaway 7" single, recorded in the afternoon in Vancouver's Starfish Room. Embarrass Ourselves Awake: 1 - Recorded on eight-track at the Centre For Art Tapes. It showed up on a Halifax comp called 'Hear and Now, as well as our first real release: the 1992 cassette EP Nobody Famous. 2 - Recorded at Steve Comeau's then-fresh Adinsound studio on Quinpool. 3 - Recordedon a Sears ghettoblaster one summer afternoon in 1989. 4 - Recorded at CBC Halifax. 6 to 11 - thrush Hermit's alter ego band: The Tim Robbins Experience. 7 - Appeared on the Bubblegum Records 'Blow Hard and Pop' comp. 8 - Recorded in the space where Sloan were demoing 'Twice Removed.' 12 - The first incarnation of Thrush Hermit proper was The Hoods. 14 - Recorded on four-track. 16 - Four-tracked at the Plasketts' in '92. 18 - Demoed in the table tennis room of the Plasketts' house circa autumn 1991. 19 - Live from the Double Deuce. Excerpted from a comp called 'Cod Can't Hear.' 24 - Four-track demo. Mastered and edited at Archive Mastering, Mineville, NS, unless otherwise noted.
