The live recordings on this Playback EP are taken from the promotional Columbia double LP [r=6697416], also released in 1972. The Playback series of 7" EP's were commercially available to the public via subscription, unlike the full album which was a promotional give-away to radio stations and retailers. Times listed on the label are for "total side" of the record. Unlike the promotional album where they're credited as "The Kenny Loggins Band With Jim Messina", they're listed here as "Kenny Loggins With Jim Messina". Some copies came with a generic Playback sleeve with the same 'front side' logo graphics on both sides.
