Released in jewel case with booklet (incl. matrix numbers of shellacs, musicians etc&). Tracks 1 to 4 recorded in Los Angeles, c. December 1945 / January 1946. Tracks 5 to 8 recorded in Nashville, c. March / April 1946. Tracks 9 to 12 recorded in New York, November 30, 1946. Tracks 13 to 16 recorded in New York, c. July 1947. Tracks 17 to 20 recorded in New York, c. July 1947. According to the booklet: . On tracks 5 to 8, unknown additional trumpet and alto sax . . On tracks 13 to 16, Chester Slater, Billy Butler, Percy Joell and Dottie Smith are probable, and as vocalists they are the Harlemaires. There are also unknown trumpet, alto sax, tenor sax, baritone sax. . On tracks 17 to 20, unknown trumpet, alto sax, tenor sax, piano, guitar, bass and drums Probable errors on the booklet: . On tracks 1 to 4, Joe Morris and Wendel Culley play trumpet, not piano. . On tracks 9 to 12, Bill Dogget is the only pianist, Leonard Feather stated as second pianist seems miscredited, at least according to original issues on shellac.
