Beside Myself --- 2008

Acoustic guitars to the fore throughout most of this late 2008 release. A collection of what I can only describe as 'spacey' songs. The opening 'Hello Little Snowdrop' sets the tone with plucked acoustic and gentle strings. As usual there are surprises and by the time you get to 'Here Comes The Snowman' (regarded by many as a Lloyd Tucker classic) even the orchestral 'Battenburg Concerto' can't phase you. Produced as a retro looking CDR complete with stylus noise and play-out groove this charming disk comes in an LP type sleeve with inserts. Original copies contain just two tracks, side one and side two, re-enforcing the idea that it should be listened to as a whole album, not just a collection of songs.
