Singer songwriter Lo Carmen’s shimmering songs transcend time and genre - described by Post To Wire as ‘like the Velvet Underground jamming with Mazzy Star in a Nashville honky tonk after closing time’ - and they are in full mesmerising force on ‘Transatlantic Light,’ her eighth studio album. Self produced, recorded with her long time band The Great Beyond, Cec Condon on drums (Mess Hall), Ken Gormly on bass (Cruel Sea) and Sam Worrad on guitar (Holy Soul). The album explores new sonic landscapes while maintaining the intimate, confessional style that defines her work. There are contributions from special guests including backing vocals from Robyn Hitchcock, Carmen’s father rock legend Peter Head on Hammond and piano and a ramshackle children’s choir sing-along on single ‘Fix Your Heart Or Die’, out now. Impressed Recordings and Lo Carmen & The Great Beyond are excited to announce an exclusive limited edition run of 200 on clear pink vinyl, featuring liner notes by Will Hermes (author of ‘Lou Reed: King of New York’), available on September 13th.
