Decca Records, A Division of MCA Inc., New York, N.Y., USA Schuman's New England Triptych was commissioned in 1956 by André Kostelanetz, who conducted the University of Miami Orchestra in the première on October 28th of that year. Mennin's Canto for Orchestra was first performed in 1963. Webern's Passacaglia, Op. 1, was written in 1908. Dallapiccola's Variazioni was commissioned by the Louisville Orchestra in 1954.
