The Music Of Rodgers & Arlen

Overview

The Music Of Rodgers & Arlen --- 1965-01-00

Australian WRC pressing, sourced from original stampers and featuring unique sleeve art. No licensing text on the back (which would become a ubiquitous feature of WRC releases by the end of the year). Mono and stereo versions have an identical flipback sleeve and the same number on the back (PLE/850) - the mono version has "PLE-850" on beige 'strobe' labels, while the stereo has "SPLE-850" on green 'strobe' labels. The stereo was issued with a small "S" sticker on the front of the sleeve. Same cover photo as 1962's The Dancing Years / King's Rhapsody, but presented in sepia. Issued as a 'dividend' release, offered at a low price (18 shillings, instead of the regular 35) for club members who had bought one LP or more in the previous 12 months. Offered most months from January to July 1965. The chorale and orchestra are identified, but only given as "His Orchestra" and "His Chorale". World Record Club: 330 Flinders Lane, Melbourne 177 Elizabeth Street, Sydney Newspaper House, 93 Queen Street, Brisbane 62 Pulteney Street, Adelaide Barnett's Buildings, Council Avenue, Perth
