Slow Beethoven --- 2023-04-00

This unusual and beautiful work, called "Slow Beethoven", is the collaboration of a string quartet and The TANK Center for Sonic Arts, a nonprofit recording studio and concert venue dedicated to an extremely resonant empty water tank in the high desert of northwestern Colorado. On June 17, 2021, at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, Jeffrey Ziegler led three other players in an adagio movement, the fugue from Beethoven's String Quartet Number 14 in C# minor, Opus 131, radically slowed down to 45 minutes in length from the original tempo of seven minutes. There is a typo on the label for side one, it says String Quartet #4 when it is in fact #14.
