100 Tape Limited Release / Pitch black rain clouds swallow the moon. Waves crash on playgrounds of abandoned school yards. Angelic voices gurgle out of blown out KTV speakers. Strange amphibious creatures crawl through washed out farmland. Multicolored algae climb the walls of teetering high-rises. A single winding road drags itself out of the city, slithering up into the mountains. The banging of distant drums echo over an island half submerged. ANKR presents: Mountain Refuge 藥在山裡 A compilation cassette tape/concept album featuring 10 of Taiwan’s contemporary ambient and experimental producers. From lush acoustic-electric ballads to desolate droning soundscapes. Wailing tribal chants and hypnotic swirling melodies. Powerful electronic compositions which create a fictional reality inspired by the unique ecological challenges facing Taiwan. Each song a portal into the dreams and nightmares of our collaborators.
