Gold Tone

Overview

Gold Tone --- 2010

Beyondo is a genre-bending experimental soul band led by Brooklyn trumpeter, Eric Biondo. Gold Tone is Beyondo's first full-length record. This independent release is an exploration in the sound of the trumpet as a voice and the voice as an instrument. Every song was built on an improvisation with the intent of capturing the honesty of first-time feelings that cannot be replicated in second-time reenactments. Church-evoking brass chorals give birth to soulful funk grooves of fever-dream soundtracks. Gold Tone features guest appearances from Luke O'Malley (Phenomenal Handclap Band), Stuart Bogie (Antibalas, Superhuman Happiness, Sway Machinery), Rob Di Pietro (Jessie Harris, Norah Jones), Alex Hamlin (Jerseyband), and Tony Barba (Young Blood Brass Band). Eric Biondo has also independently contributed his trumpet playing in the studio with bands such as Antibalas, TV on The Radio, Holly Miranda, Passion Pit, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Charlie Hunter Band, Foals, Holy Ghost! and The Monkees.
