Overview

Gringo --- 2010-12-02

Next up from the hombres from Raving Loony Records: Teenage Mutants with their 'Gringo' EP. The Mutants hail from Mainz, Germany, and are shooting up the ranks quicker than you can say 'heroes in a half-shell', having worked on productions with Azzido Da Bass, Dada Life, Stupid Fresh, Dirty Disco Youth and Frag Maddin. This EP is classic Loony, with something for everybody. The original 'Gringo' is a two-parter that hits you unexpectedly with a warped creepy bassline that sits in your throat, and then develops into an electric jottering monster. A short-but-sweet thrill ride! The Coconut Wireless Remix is really something special. They have given a soft yet powerful touch that will keep the dancefloor moving long into the night. This one smells like a serious hit. The Chokr remix picks up nearly all the elements of the original and throws them in the blender to create something really left-of-centre for the real freaks out there. Finally, Noize Generation takes his turn, stepping up the electro-factor and cranking the crunchy bass with more energy than a syringe of taurine.
