This is a soul record done in a classic mode, not a re-creation of classic soul music. It is a record authentic to where these five great artists find themselves today- and in relationship to each other. It is music steeped in Tradition, but played with no particular reverence for it. This is the first of a series; and there is more to come. Recorded June 4-10, 2005, at Capitol Studios, Los Angeles, CA.
