Mind Blowers Volume 3 - Autumn In The Mid 60's

Overview

Mind Blowers Volume 3 - Autumn In The Mid 60's --- 2004

The limited CD is an excellent compilation of rare U.S. 60's pop/garage bands. Unlike the previous Mind Blowers, these compiled tracks are all pre-Psychedelic and strongly influenced by The Beatles and The Byrds. All of the bands and tracks here are major 60's gems, honestly, by bands who were incredibly innovative, accomplished musicians and great songwriters in their own right. Taken from rare and long unavailable 45's, many of these have never been reissued since their release or collected on CD. Featuring 31 tracks, some highlights are a rare Byrds non-LP single "Don't Make Waves (mono version)", an uncollected classic Beau Brummels b-side "She Reigns", with Elliot & Valentino delivering perhaps their finest and most beautiful ballad, both sides of the 1st 45 by the legendary Shindogs (featuring James Burton & Delaney Bramlett), the house band on the Shindig Music Show who's Someday, Someday is possibly the best Beatle soundalike and as great as The Knickerbocker's Lies, the highly collectable Gates Of Eden by The Myddle Class and the impossibly rare cover of an early Van Dyke Parks gem, "It Is", by The Nerve. Over 79 minutes of music, this is an essential compilation of some of the most inspired and moving pop music of the period committed to vinyl.
