Revelation In The Courthouse Park --- 1962
Excerpted version. After the Bacchae of Euripides. Written under a grant from the Research Board of the Graduate College. Performed as part of the Festival of Contemporary Arts, University of Illinois, April 11, 1961, by the "Gate 5 Ensemble" of the University. Recorded on an Ampex 354. Chorus of Women, Chorus of Men, Drums Majorettes, Brass Band, Clog Dancers, Tumblers, Guitarists, and other instrumentalists. Pre-recorded tape is occasionally part of the musical score. A1: Chorus one in full. A2: Chorus three in part, beginning with Ishbu Kubu and continuing almost to the end. B4: The end of scene three and all of chorus four. B5: The end of scene four and the Coda.
