Registered live: Basilica in Intra (VB) Italy Bartolomeo Franzosini was born in Intra on February 27, 1768 and died on June 25, 1853. Franzosini was appointed organist and choirmaster for life, for the basilica of S. Vittore in Intra, at the age of twenty-five and covered the position until 1839 when he resigned due to his advanced age. The composer's tomb is located in the cemetery of Intra and on this we can read the following epitaph: "adorned with studies, chosen ways, religious costumes, in notes and lines the harmony of his mind he drew alive. For him in the greatest temple of his land the sound wave of the sacred concerts rises to the sky more majestic ". As far as sacred music is concerned, Bartolomeo Franzosini is certainly the most important composer of Verbano. Until the mid-1980s, Franzosini was known only for a few citations in treatises on historiography and musicology. In particular, he remembered the success of his composition "Requiem in the death of Vittorio Emanuele 1 ° of Savoy". Some of his compositions were also found in the capitular archive of the Milan Cathedral. In addition to being a musician Bartolomeo Franzosini was also an architect, he is credited with the design of the parish church of Solcio di Lesa. The research carried out in the eighties, with the establishment of the Franzosiniani Study Center in Verbania, brought to light numerous compositions by the musician. It is a vast patrimony that includes Masses, solemn Vespers, sacred pieces, symphonies, quartets, cantatas, incidental music, chamber works and music for wind instruments. Franzosini were found in the Borromeo music archive, at the Isola Bella palace and above all in the archive of the basilica of S. Vittore in Intra.
