Overview

Christy --- 1995

'Christy' sees Christy Moore at a reflective stage of his life; a life which has been shaped by music and song. A powerfully evocative film, 'Christy' revisits those places which live on in Christy Moore's music, his home town Newbridge, Co Kildare, the Curragh and the Hill of Allen. He recalls his early days as a singer, first with Planxty and later with Moving Hearts and a lifetime spent in pursuit of songs. Songs like 'Ride On', 'Yellow Furze Women', 'The Well Below The Valley', 'Nancy Spain', 'The Reel in the Flickering Light', 'Black is the Colour', 'Johnny Connors' and others catch Christy in full flight. Running Time: 54:40 Director: Philip King Producer: Nuala O'Connor Director of Photography: Declan Quinn Editor: Gaye Lynch Associate Producer: Sarah Power Executive Producers: Kieran Corrigan and Mattie Fox Cover Design: John Power
