My son claims to have written this one when he was around 18 months old. Not sure if I buy that, but he keeps insisting. I try to tell him that his song is just a retread of "Bogalusa Strut" and he feigns ignorance, and when I show him the Sam Morgan Jazz Band record I found in his diaper bag he says he's never seen it before in his life. Oh well. As Sen. Pat Geary said to Michael Corleone, "Some of us have to play little games". As for the lyric, an eighteen-month-old's world-view is very limited, but he takes the dictum "write what you know" very much to heart, and so here is the story of a boy and his pacifier. Most families have a nickname for the pacifier (binkie, pacie (sp?), plug...) and in our house we use the word nummy. Not much of a story to the song, just a boy and his nummy. For the recording I was fortunate enough to get Matt Rhody, Jason Jurzak and Bill Malchow to come and play on the thing. We did it over at Goat's place back on September 8, 2016.
