The Golden Wave Band in Concert
Overview
The Golden Wave Band in Concert --- undefined
Donald I. Moore has been the director since 1948, coming to Baylor after a teaching career in Iowa, Texas and Colorado and receiving his education in Iowa, Minnesota, Colorado and Michigan. He is a composer of reputation in the band field, having numbers published by several leading music houses. He is National President of Kappa Kappa Psi, honorary band fraternity, and is active in the College Band Directors National Association. This is a recording of a concert performance March 4, 1956 at the Del Mar College Auditorium in Corpus Christi, Texas, while the band was on its annual Spring Tour. A single microphone was mounted on a stand in the orchestra pit, and was placed about ten feet in back and four feet above the director's head. The recording was done by Shepherd's Recording Service of Corpus Christi. Although some auditorium and audience noises can be heard, the listener benefits here from hearing an actual performance of an excellent musical organization. No editing has been done to improve upon the performance.
