It’s hard now to remember a time when an audio product was limited to something that would always manifest as a physical object, and how the finality of the object, and the time and expense associated with it would impart somewhat arbitrary and subjective criteria to songs. This one sounds bad/weird, this one is too long, this one smells funny, etc. With the benefit of hindsight, we now know this is all nonsense. Sounds are sounds, and songs are songs. You cannot chain them to the radiator in your basement. You have to set them free. We think all of these selections were recorded after 2001, and know for sure that almost all of them were recorded in Brooklyn, some straight to a cassette recorder, some 100% on cassette four track, some hybrid cassette four track and digital audio multitracking. And then the Mag The Wags represent asynchronous collaboration across the distances we found ourselves. Now liberated from the aforementioned criteria, we present to you Like A Stogie.
