From the official label Bandcamp site: "This remaster is made from a reel of a 1976 performance featuring vocalese master Eddie Jefferson with Rashied Ali Quintet. Documented in the emerging downtown New York loft scene at Ali's Alley, Jefferson's art and career - which was overlooked for many years - was finally undergoing a deserved revival. This rare ensemble played two nights in July of which the latter is released here unedited. The selections are Jefferson classics; all original lyrics to bebop standards including the classic horn solos, which Jefferson interprets with his own spicy and witty sense of humor.
