Z Valihą Na Madagaskar --- 1993
(Translated sleeve notes) Bally Ramaronandrasana Jean Baptiste De La Salle came to Poland with a musical instrument: the valiha. Initially initiated by his father Rakotolnandrasana Joseph Charles, then by the famous master Randafison Sylvester, he recorded with him a historical record entitled the Vahila produced in France by Playa Sound in 1989. Bally and his valiha were discovered by Maria Krupowies, a singer from Vilnus. Our meeting for an imaginary trip took place during a soiree in June 1993 at the S4 studio of the Polish Radio in Warsaw. In Power Bross Company, excellent jazz meccas - the flutist Krzysztof Popek, leader of the group Young Power, Wlodzimierz Kiniorski who plays a dozen instruments we headed to this enchanting island or push the ravinala, or the sun tickles the lemurs and Beniowski falls in love. The valiha was for centuries a symbol of peace and love in the hands of Malagasy heroes. Bally is the guide of our musical caravan that will be joined later by the master of the harmonica Slamowir Wierzcholski, Rasolomampionona Desire with his guitar and the magician Adrian Sherwood. Everything was fixed on the tape by Wojciech Przybylski. Here is the story of the magical valiha, the story of our musical journey to the distant island The adventure, love, and drama have crossed a certain June night under the full moon at the crossroads of our imagination. We lived these moments together thanks to Jan Popis, Elizbieta Pobiedzinka, Jerzy Kleszcz, Adrian Sherwood, Stanislaw Leszczynski
