The recording is unusual - it was a first ever in South Africa. The verse is from a collection of Phillip de Bruyn's - The Secret Place (publishers: Human & Rosseau) - and the music is music specially composed by Colin Campbell of Cape Town. The poet labelled his work jazz-verse. The verse is beautifully spoken by Percy Sieff, of Cape Town.
