Synthetic Slice

Overview

Synthetic Slice --- 2018-04-01

Album of solo Improvisations for Electric Guitar + Electronics and extended plectrum (EBow, Ball Chain, Whisk, Spring, finger glitch) by Alan S. Tofighi. In preparation of the first live "solo Electric Gutiar" set in four years. Solo electric guitar in this case indicates the heavily modified guitar "clowny" and a pedalboard. Alan S. Tofighi recorded seven "rehearsals". These were recorded the day before and day of the performance. These were compiled into the first and second track. The third track features the bare result of the straight to record live track. The closest to a shredding album Alan had made, Synthetic Slice is accompanied by further processing via track 4 consists of track 1 played through an Electro-Harmonix mellotron pedal which was then shortened and pitch corrected, and one final inversion in track five pictographically transmuted from various simulations. Tracks 1 and 2 were recorded on June 15, 2018. Track 3 was recorded Live at the Wulf June 16, 2018. Track 4 and 5 are remixes of Track 1
