Norske Filmklassikere --- 1993
Large numbers of film music and melodies have been written for Norwegian films since the first sound film commencement in 1931, and the task of making a fair selection among these almost impossible. After reviewing archives, reference books, films, 78-discs, video cassettes and production tapes, we ended up with a collection of music from 51 Norwegian films from 1932 until today. Everyone is Norwegian produced with the exception of one - "Windjammer" from 1958. This is an American production, but we have nevertheless chosen to include a melody from this. For the first time, Norwegian film music is collected on one release and we hope this will increase people's curiosity also for the movies the music is taken from. Most titles are available as rental and / or buying films. Enjoy yourself! At about one third of the recordings, the sound base was so poor that it had to be sent through a very special restoration process. For the first time, such a restoration is done in Norway and it was carried out at Bel Digital in Oslo at a so-called NoNoice plant, developed by American Solutions. In brief, the restoration is done as follows: the music is stored on a hard drive and cleaned of crackle, then for noise and finally new equalization can be made so that as much of the original recording as possible appears.
