Spilar Og Spilar
Overview
Spilar Og Spilar --- 1980
Viðar Alfreðsson was born in Reykjavík May 1936. Viðar has always been interested in music and in 1958 he went abroad to study, first in Germany and later on in England. In 1936 Viðar Graduated from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and there after he began playing third horn at the Sadlers Wells Opera in London and later he played first horn. After five years at the Opera Viðar jpined the B. B. C. Radio Orchestra where he played second horn. In 1971 Viðar left the B. B. C. and moved back to Iceland. He now plays first horn in the Icelandic Symphonic Orchestra, teaches music and conducts a children's brass band. Viðar is a man of many talents and in his free time he plays jazz with his friends, and the horn is not the the only instrument he can blow. This record is a fine sample of his talents and hopefully Viðar will continue to play, and play. . .
