Scheherazade; Russlan And Ludmilla Overture --- undefined

[l55613] CD Club reissue, appearing here courtesy of [l57951] and originally issued as VCD 47208, which contained the original [l1261787] LP configuration (SDG 304) of "Scheherazade," coupled with the previously unissued "Russlan and Ludmilla Overture," both from 1979 Soundstream digital recording sessions by [a835409] and [a262940]. The release features a four-page booklet (with blank inner pages!) with liner notes by [a2578390], which begin on the back of the inlay card and continue on the back cover of the booklet, as well as a brief note concerning the recording. The front cover features a color reproduction of a painting of Sinbad by an unidentified artist. It should also be noted that the colors on the front booklet, inlay card, and spine are different from the retail issue, for whatever reason! An Original [l1261787] Recording. "Scheherazade" was recorded direct to two-track [l27156] Digital in [l323994], London on July 19-20, 1979. (This is the first release of the "Russlan & Ludmilla" which was recorded at the same sessions.) Total Time: 47:12 The sections of sub-track 4 are separated by commas on the inlay card, but by virgules (slashes!) on the CD label -- the latter (being more grammatically correct!) have therefore been used in the Tracklisting section as per [g1.7.3.] Both the liner notes and CD label [correctly!] refer to the title of the Glinka selection as "Russlan And Ludmilla Overture," whereas the front cover and the back of the inlay card give the title as the "Russlan And Ludmila Overture," and the spine gives the title as the "Russlan & Ludmila Overture" -- the first of these variations is used in both the Title and Tracklisting sections as per [g3.1.3.] Also, [a2578390]'s name is spelled differently in the booklet, so an ANV has been used for the corresponding PAN in the Credits section as per [g2.5.2.]
