Overview
Tentación --- 1953
[translated sleeve-notes] Lucy Fabery was born in Humacao, a beautiful city on the eastern side of the island of Puerto Rico, on January 31, 1933. With her father being a violinist and her educator mother a music connoisseur, it is not surprising that from an early age Lucy was deeply attracted to music as well. Her early environment was purely artistic. The echoes of her father's profession remained following his death, and clashed with her mother's wishes that Lucy might continue in her own footsteps as a teacher. Lucy's education was no obstacle; she finished her studies, graduating with a degree in X-ray Technique, but remained adamant to perform bel canto, her dearest dream. Fearing her mother would learn the truth Lucy performed incognito, and had many successes throughout Puerto Rico. Lucy eventually confessed her dreams and, following graduation, began performing at El Morocco, one of the most important clubs in San Juan. Lucy has enjoyed great success in New York, Cuba, Panama, Ecuador and Peru; and now to leave evidence of her exquisite voice, we present for your enjoyment this selection of tunes, thanks to MUSART discs, which will delight and soothe lovers of beautiful music with Lucy's sweet, melodic, caressing voice."
