Storm Relief --- 2017-10-16

The first compilation from Portage Garage Sounds is titled, "Storm Relief," with 100% of proceeds going directly to positively impacting the people and communities affected by the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season. When we heard the news unfold over the first weeks of fall, it was like one punch after another. Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria ravaged the southern Atlantic coast and Caribbean islands, causing brutal devastation, destroying homes and leaving millions of people without clean drinking water or electricity. In the short time since, many are still waiting for aid and those left vulnerable have seen their situation deteriorate, some attempting to piece their lives back together, others just trying to survive. In this era of the 24-hour news cycle, we sometimes can feel overwhelmed and powerless to make a difference, but in reality these days it’s easier than ever to contribute. We feel It’s important to remember everyone can help in their own way, and intend to use our musical platform to raise awareness for those in need. PGS would like to thank all of the artists and musicians for contributing their time, effort, and music for this massive project. PGS would also like to thank Charles Trees for curating this project.
