Release title written on the cover and spine is "Like All Men Of The Library, I Have Travelled In My Youth...", but the title on the cassette shell is "As a Young Man I Travelled the Library...". A Megaphone Cassette Special This tape is compiled mostly from pieces released elsewhere. Some remixes and compilation tracks, unreleased live recordings and sundry. 1999-2010. Liner notes (excluding credits for tracks A2 & A3 already listed above. Extra notes not listed in the release itself are marked with an asterisk symbol): Track A1 (2009): A cover of the song by [a10381] for a compilation of 7'' records entitled "[r=1299995]". [a367226] plays de tom-toms at Snow Ghost studio. Coupigny modular synthesizer from the GRM studios, Paris. Track A2 (2001): An alt-mix of [a=Björk]'s "[m=34618]" made while we prepared for the [m=37082] tour. Björk's xtra text from D. Attenborough's "Life of Birds". *Originally made available to download as an 192 kbps MP3 entitled "Hearts & Bones" on Björk's official site around the time of Vespertine's release. Track A3 (2000): A remix of the [a10109] song of the same name, from "[m=14524]". Track A4 (1999): One of a set of pieces made with concept artists Anna Novakov and Tony Labat. Originally packaged with liner notes wrapping a stick of butter. Track A5 (2008): Made at the GRM in Paris for [a=Joseph Ghosn]'s scumyrearth label. *Previously released on the "[r=1524212]" 7" as "Live At The End Of Humanity". Track A6 (2010) with [a367226]: Originally from our eponymous album together ([m=357466]). Saw, animal calls, steel drums, double fluting - NYC. Track B1 (2001): Made for a compilation entitled "[m=150813]", a tribute to the film "Blow Up". Track B2 (2008): A piece we made to accompany a photobook of animals by legendary Japanese photographer [a=Daido Moriyama]. Extensive use of an outdoor percussion sculpture "Orchestra for Natives of the Future" by Mary and Bill Buchen recorded binaurally while playing it. Also: Lucy Goodfriend, a dog, was recorded. Track B3 (2008): Drew made this while accidently locked in the studios overnight at the GRM during a residency there. Too many odd sounds to list... Track B4 (2000): Our remix of John "[a=Slicker]" Hughes' song. Fast food is a theme. *Previously released on "[m=107714]". Track B5 (2006): This was made for headphone listening while touring the N.A.Mammal Hall at the L.A. National History Museum for the exhibit "Sonic Scenery". Track B6 (2000): A remix of [a=Sutekh] and [a=Twerk] piece from "[m=966828]". *Previously released on "[m=33259]". Matmos is Drew Daniel and M.C. Schmidt compiled in 2015 The title of this tape is taken from "The Library of Babel" by [a910543].
